I am so excited to welcome you to the Little Squirrels childcare blog—a place where we can stay connected, share stories, and give you an inside look at all the fun and learning happening in our nurturing environment! Through this blog, you’ll get updates, see highlights of your child's time here, and learn more about the wonderful activities we do together. It’s a great way to stay involved and watch your little one thrive!

At my in-home childcare program, I am dedicated to fostering growth, creativity, and a deep connection to nature. I combine the best elements of Waldorf Earth School and Montessori-inspired methods to create a rich and holistic learning experience tailored to each child’s individual needs. Here's a peek into what makes our program special:

Nature-Centered Learning

My Waldorf-inspired approach connects children to the natural world. Whether we’re exploring the outdoors, tending to a garden, or enjoying seasonal crafts, nature is a key part of our daily activities. We believe in the power of nature to spark curiosity and provide hands-on learning experiences. My custom made, play based curriculum flows with the natural rhythm of nature and all 4 beautiful seasons.

Montessori-Style Independence

Fostering independence is at the core of my Montessori-style approach. Children are encouraged to learn at their own pace, explore their interests, and engage in purposeful activities that build confidence. I create an environment where children feel empowered to make choices and develop a sense of responsibility for their own learning.

  Holistic Development

I am focused on nurturing the whole child—mind, body, and spirit. A balanced approach ensures that each child is supported in their emotional, social, intellectual, and physical growth. Our daily rhythm flows naturally, alternating between activities that allow children to expand and be free, to activities that help ground, and calm, enhancing focus and attention span.

  Creative Play

Play is an essential part of learning. Through art, storytelling, and imaginative play, we encourage children to express themselves and develop critical thinking skills. Whether they are painting, building, or engaging in role-play, our activities are designed to inspire creativity and foster problem-solving abilities. The children help create most of the elements in our pretend play, and guided activities.

I am excited to share this journey with you, and hope this blog helps you feel connected to your child’s experiences here. Be sure to check in regularly for updates, photos, and stories of all the fun we’re having! Thank you for being a part of our community. I can’t wait to watch these children flourish.

Warmly,

Ms Sarah

May the world be filled with beautiful, peaceful little children.
